Clinical studies conducted at the University of Buffalo have shown that your lung function is a significant predictor of longevity.
Lead researcher Dr. Schanemann said that people with moderately impaired lung functions have an increased mortality rate, concluding that “the most important determining factor in health is the quality of your breathing.”
He added that the reasons lung function may predict mortality are not clear, noting that increased risk is found in non-smokers, as well as among smokers.
